Salvation Army Church & Community Hub
A Christian Church & Charity where Everyone is welcome, Nobody is perfect and Anything is possible. We reach out the hand of friendship to the lonely, the sad and the vulnerable, making them feel of worth. We offer a community programme which promotes active living and reduces isolation. We run a knit & natter group, lunch club, indoor bowls, toddler group, a monthly ladies and a men’s fellowship meeting with speakers and refreshments. We also offer practical assistance to those who need our help and items and clothes from our Charity Shop to help the homeless. Our new coffee hub opens in the spring of 2022 where everyone will be welcome. Our Christmas appeal runs during November & December ensuring children and families do not go without at Christmas.

Street Pastors and NightLite
Drawn from many churches across Cambridgeshire, Street Pastors are trained volunteers who patrol the streets of central Cambridge every Saturday night from 10pm to 3am caring, listening and helping anyone in need, without judgement. Cambridge Street Pastors also run a safe space café – NightLite – to provide a place to rest, wait for a lift, use the toilet, or receive paramedic assistance, which is open every Saturday night in Downing Place Church from 10pm to 3am. Both teams are supported by Prayer Pastors through the night, who are home based and remain in touch via text. We are actively seeking new volunteers in all 3 roles, serving approximately once a month.

Friends International Cambridge
Friends International are a Christian charity seeking to grow friendship and faith with international students in the UK & Ireland. We want to give as many as we can a great time in the UK, chances to experience real local culture, and opportunities to hear the Christian message. We equip churches and volunteers to serve, minister, and engage with international students, caring for them holistically. We also organise a range of social events and activities for international students to be a part of. In Cambridge, we continually are looking to connect with churches and individuals to partner together in this work – please get in touch if you would like to know more.

Round Church Visitor Centre
Built in c.1130 and modelled on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the Round Church is an iconic Cambridge landmark that is visited by 15,000 people each year. The Round Church Visitor Centre seeks to engage visitors and residents with the Christian foundations of western culture, through an exhibition and 23-minute film in the Round Church, and regular guided walking tours of the University, which feature stories of the University’s foundation, the Protestant Reformation, the birth of modern science, movements for the rule of law and religious toleration, and the abolition of the British slave trade. If you are interested in finding out more about the work, and opportunities to volunteer with us, we’d love to hear from you!
